Work continues to open Puck’s Glen
Forestry and Land Scotland is working with geotechnical experts to get Puck’s Glen fully open once again.
The popular woodland site, which boasts scenic trails, has been hit by landslips and fallen trees in recent months which are proving very difficult to make safe.
Whilst experts work to remove a dangerous overhanging tree root plate, the lower section of the gorge will remain closed for safety reasons.
Following the removal of fallen trees further up the gorge, this area is now safe for the public to visit. The trail from the car park leading to the forest road is also open and unaffected.
Sue Morris, area visitor services manager at Forestry and Land Scotland, said:
“We apologise to regular users and visitors of Puck’s Glen for the ongoing disruption to the trail, however, public safety is our number one priority.
“We advise users of the upper trail and surrounding woodlands to adhere to the onsite safety signage and instructions, as we endeavour to have the whole Puck’s Glen gorge open again as soon as possible for the public to enjoy.”
