Lodge Forest Visitor Centre re-opens after two day closure
Forestry and Land Scotland has announced that the Lodge Forest Visitor, near Aberfoyle, will re-open on Saturday after a two day closure.
The Visitor Centre in Queen Elizabeth Forest Park was closed on Thursday to effect a full deep clean after a member of the café team tested positive for Coronavirus.
Sue Morris, FLS visitor services manager in the area, said;
“The Lodge was closed on Wednesday afternoon when we were made aware that a member of the café team had tested positive for COVID-19.
“In line with all the guidelines from the Scottish Government Test and Protect team, we closed immediately. All of the other members of the café team were also tested as a precautionary measure.
“All the tests have come back negative so with the one affected member of staff now self-isolating, the café can re-open this weekend after a full deep clean.
“We have also been advised by the NHS Track and Trace team that the extremely low levels of risk of transmission in this case mean that there is no need to contact any of our recent customers.
“We would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding – and for supporting us in our efforts to keep everyone safe.”
The Lodge will re-open on Saturday 5 September with full COVID-19 prevention measures in place. Visitors to the Lodge will be required observe the physical distancing guidance.
