FLS looking for contractors for building maintenance
Forestry and Land Scotland is seeking feedback from contractors to provide maintenance and improvements across its wide range of buildings.
The survey will help FLS understand the size, scope and capacity of the marketplace to carry out maintenance work to buildings across Scotland including offices, stores, workshops and deer larders.
The move comes as the organisation’s current suite of framework agreements near their end and it begins to assess potential options and opportunities for procuring this vital work.
Mark Wilcock, Head of Fleet and Buildings for FLS said:
“We are looking to find out, both from existing and potential contractors, about the services they can offer, their capacity, preferred work locations, tendering experience and so on to better support our future operations.
“This information enables us to plan and build strategic working relationships with contractors, so we would encourage anyone who has/is developing these skills and services to respond to the survey.
“Works procured through these frameworks requires a variety of trades such as electrical, plumbing, joinery, painting and decorating, roofing and builders work and can be called off either as emergency works, reactive or planned maintenance works.”
FLS has published a Prior Information Notice (PIN) that will help gather information as well as identify fresh approaches. The online supplier engagement questionnaire can be accessed through the link contained within the PIN document. A PIN is not a call for competition or a contract and not responding to the PIN will NOT disadvantage contractors who bid for contracts as they are published.
It is anticipated that the new Buildings Maintenance Framework will consist of Lots divided by geographic location. These are outlined in the survey.
The PIN notice has been published on Public Contract Scotland (PCS) www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk. Anyone who is not registered on PCS but would like to respond to the PIN can get more information online.
