Book a slot to buy a tree at Tyrebagger
With Christmas on the horizon, Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) is gearing up its Tyrebagger Christmas Tree Sales Centre (near Aberdeen) to help families in the north east make Christmas as merry as possible.
However, this year customers are being advised that in light of COVID-19 protections, they will only be able to visit the centre and collect a tree if they pre-book a time slot.
Fiona Robertson, FLS Area Visitor Services Manager, said;
“Everybody has had a really tough year and a real tree goes a long way towards creating that Christmas feeling, which is maybe needed this year more than ever.
“We want to do what we can to help everyone have a festive season that is full of good health as well as good cheer, so our booking system will give everyone the safe-space they need while they choose their tree.
“We expect demand to be high, so we’d advise anyone looking to enjoy this traditional experience to get online and book as soon as they can.”
Anyone looking to visit Tyrebagger should go online and follow the easy steps to securing a time slot. The booking system will go live from Thursday 12th Nov with time slots available between 9am and 5pm from 26 November to 5pm on 23 December. The time slots will be hour-long but only 30 cars will be taken in each hour.
You will need to provide the registration number of vehicle you’ll be collecting your tree in as vehicles arriving on site without a valid booking will not be granted access.
Visitors are advised that late arrivals might not be allowed in to the site, that only card payments for Christmas trees will be accepted and that they should follow site signage at all times to help keep themselves and others safe.
Face coverings will be required and hand sanitiser provided when entering and leaving the site and visitors are advised that there will be no public toilets available.
Fiona added;
“It will be quite a challenge but we will do our best to get slots for as many people as we can and have enough trees at the Centre for everybody.
“Trees will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis…..so book early!”
